AUSS Mobile is the newest addition to NDT Solutions’ (NDTS, New Richmond, Wis., U.S.) AUSS product family. The portable C-scan inspection system incorporates ultrasonics, eddy current and bond testing in a single system. AUSS Mobile is scalable, able to be used with a variety of scanners including collaborative robots (cobots).
The AUSS Mobile reportedly excels at composite materials testing. The digital mobile scanning solution performs well on multi-layered laminates, glass fiber/carbon fiber composites, honeycomb and foam cores, metal-to-metal bonding and adhesively bonded fittings. Typical defects revealed include delamination, disbonds, crushed core, skin-to-core flaws, far-side defects, impact damage, liquid ingress and more. According to NDTS, this enables multiple inspections for aircraft production, maintenance and sustainment programs. AUSS Mobile was designed to compile data with unsurpassed capacity using A-, B- and C-scan merged views, plus true acquired waveform data.
Having a comprehensive user interface enables precise data analysis with simplified setup file construction, NDTS says. Customized views can be displayed using multiple gating scenarios, unique algorithms, tools or refined color palettes. ImagIn software architecture produces high-quality image analysis.
Additional features cited include:
