The (CANCOM) is the flagship national conference of the (CACSMA). Taking place Aug. 10-13, 2026, at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver), the 14th CANCOM event brings together researchers, industry professionals and government partners to exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations and share advances in composite materials and structures.
Over the years, the conference has become the central meeting point for the Canadian composites community. The 2026 scientific committee includes members from Canada, the U.S., Europe and Asia, with organizers expecting stronger-than-usual international participation.
The conference program will span the full spectrum of composites research topics, including:
- Advances in experimental analysis and modeling.
- Numerical modeling of materials and structures.
- Nondestructive methods.
- Automation in manufacturing, data generation and analysis.
- Advancements in materials and manufacturing processes.
- Sustainable materials and technologies.
- AI and machine learning methods.
CANCOM currently invites abstract submissions of original research and application-focused studies in the field of composite materials and structures until Jan. 15, 2026. Notification of acceptance is Jan. 31, 2026.
Submissions will be managed through (CMT), an online platform for handling abstract and paper submissions, reviews and author notifications. CMT account registration is required, and the guidelines can be found .
