Material solutions innovator Avient Corp. (Avon Lake, Ohio, U.S.) is showcasing its latest composites innovations, including its Polystrand, GridCore and Hammerhead solutions.
New to Avient’s offerings is Polystrand 50-inch-wide continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic tapes. The wide-format unidirectional composite tape enables manufacturing efficiency for large-scale production.
GridCore composite utility poles are engineered to enhance grid resilience as an optimal alternative to traditional wood, steel or concrete poles. GridCore poles provide enhanced durability and reduced maintenance for reliable performance and longer service life.
Hammerhead FR, flame-retardant (FR) composite panels, which were introduced in February 2025, are thermoplastic composite panels that meet stringent ASTM E84 Class A standards for flame spread and smoke density in building and construction applications. The integrated FR technology eliminates the need for additional sheets or coatings, streamlining the installation process and reducing overall costs.
Avient’s purpose is to innovate material solutions that help customers succeed while enabling sustainability. Its local touch and customer engagement, combined with Avient’s global presence and 9,000 employees worldwide, enables the company to serve customers with agility.
Its expanding portfolio of offerings includes colorants, advanced composites, functional additives, engineered materials and Dyneema, contended to be the world’s strongest fiber.
