Extec Corp. (Enfield, Conn., U.S.) returns with a focused lineup of advanced composite test specimen preparation solutions built for speed, accuracy, consistency and direct cut-to-test capabilities. Attendees can see live equipment demos, take advantage of free cutting trials with their own composite material and to speak with Extec experts about real-world applications and best practices.

On display is the Nikon Eclipse MA200 inverted metallurgical microscope which combines digital imaging optimization with ergonomic design. Its compact, inverted format provides easy access to both sample and nosepiece, while integrated intelligence captures observation settings alongside images for more robust documentation. The MA200’s box design reduces its footprint to one-third the size of previous models, making it ideal for high-efficiency, space-conscious labs.

The Labpol 12 advanced grinder/polisher 3.0 is a versatile system that supports precise, repeatable grinding and polishing using central and individual pressure. Designed for flatness, extended tool life and optimized material removal, the Labpol 12 3.0 features intuitive controls that reduce training time and operator fatigue, making it ideal for high-throughput composite workflows where quality and consistency are key.

The Labcut 5000 composite test specimen cutting machine delivers fast, safe and precision cutting for composite test coupons with no post-cut processing required. Specimens can be taken directly from the saw to testing. It is used globally across multiple industries including aerospace, automotive, defense and R&D environments. CAMX attendees are encouraged to bring samples for free cutting at the Extec booth. Live demos run daily.

New to Extec’s lineup is the Labcut 5000 RTR composite CNC router, a large-capacity three-axis system offering a 1,200 × 1,200 mm work area and 30" under-tool clearance. It is optimal for cutting test specimens from hard-to-reach contoured surfaces.

In addition to physical products, Neal A. Bouthot, executive vice president of Extec is presenting “Enhancing Composite Test Specimen Preparation Through Advanced Processing Techniques” as part of the Manufacturing & Processing Technologies track.
