Filament winding specialist Engineering Technology Corp. (ETC, Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.), has developed FWC10, a Microsoft Windows 10-based control system that is compatible with all new and aging filament winding machine brands. The advanced system is said to increase winder longevity and operational ability.
More importantly, ETC says, FWC10 is a drop-in upgrade that provides all the security and platform benefits of Microsoft Windows 10 OS to bring aging machines on par with new-generation functionality. The control system saves long-term operational costs and boosts productivity while increasing uptime, reliability, and maintaining safety standards. FWC10 is also said to meet all the complexities of modern control systems in a simple and user-friendly intuitive display.
FWC10 key features include an industrial PC with Windows 10 OS, full backward compatibility with legacy control systems, local data logging as standard (option for external log), an intuitive user interface with customizable controls, support for custom process integration, a compact industrial NEMA 12 enclosure and diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
FWC10 control system is available as several different levels of retrofit.
