TPI, GE agree to expand wind blade production capacity in Mexico
As part of its Q2 2023 earnings, TPI Composites reports an amended supply agreement with GE including new blade production lines in Mexico.

Wind blade manufacturer TPI Composites Inc. (Scottsdale, Ariz., U.S.) reports that it and GE Renewable Energy (Paris, France) have agreed to amend their existing supply contract to add four additional blade production lines in Juarez, Mexico, with an initial term through 2025, according to the company’s .
“TPI and GE expect to finalize this agreement in the third quarter,” says Bill Siwek, president and CEO of TPI Composites.
TPI has manufactured wind blades for GE since 2008. The company previously announced in January 2023 that it has extended its supply agreement with GE through 2025, including work on GE’s next-generation blade types and the possibility of new production lines in addition to the nine previously in operation.
The Aug. 3 earnings report also emphasizes TPI’s efforts and initiatives toward ensuring robust quality systems, including the recent appointment of Neil Jones as chief quality officer.
