Tods Aerospace to to design and manufacture first class seating for Safran
Tods Aerospace will work with Safran on composite structures for a new upper first class suite and will advise on the configuration, engineering and materials selection.
Tods Aerospace (Crewkerne, U.K.), a Unitech Aerospace (Hayden, Idaho, U.S.) company and leader in advanced composite materials technologies, announced February 19 that it was successful in obtaining a new statement of work to design and manufacture the composite structures for a new upper first class suite for Safran Seats GB (Cwmbran, Wales).
A technical team from Tods Aerospace will work with the Safran team and will advise on the configuration, engineering and materials selection. The design process is scheduled to begin in late 2018 with tooling to be produced in 2019 and manufacture commencing in 2020. A total of 21 shipsets will be produced with the current program of work scheduled for completion in 2024.
