National Composites completes Sunrise Fiberglass acquisition
The third completed acquisition was part of the company’s long-term plan for growth opportunities in the composite marketplace.

(Troy, Mich., U.S.), a multi-plant OEM supplier of custom fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) and thermoformed products, announced July 14 the completion of its acquisition with Sunrise Fiberglass (Wyoming Minn., U.S.), the company’s third acquisition to date. National Composites says it now has four strategically located plants throughout the Midwest, all with multiple capabilities and staffed by experienced career fiberglass specialists.
Locations include National Composites headquarters (Troy, Mich, U.S.); (MPI, Holt, Mich., U.S.); Great Lakes Composites (Owosso, Mich, U.S.); (Owosso, Mich., U.S.); and Sunrise Fiberglass (Wyoming, Minn., U.S.)
According to National Composites, these acquisitions were a part of a long-term plan established by the leadership team lead, Adam Fenton, COO. “As we reviewed the growth opportunities in the composite marketplace, we strategically targeted those companies that could join and complement our offerings,” he says. “Our plan is to be able to provide on-time, on-budget composite solutions to our current and future customers. complemented by a team of professionals that will partner with clients to plan and create solutions that fulfill market demands.”
Collectively, National Composites says it serves industries including marine and recreation, hospitality, electric and specialty vehicles, medical, heavy equipment, agriculture, transportation and fire and safety. With its aim for a “small plant focus, with big company resources,” each plant is said to be dedicated to being the best in its field, solely focusing on specific market segments. According to National Composites, this focused approach enables its production staff to become true craftsmen of their trade and the company’s sales and engineering staff to become its customers’ true partners when providing design and engineering assistance.
