Base Materials showcases Ares 770 tooling material

(Leicester, U.K.) launches , a novel tooling material with a proprietary resin system that is made from syntactic materials. Ares 770 is designed for the manufacture of master models and patterns used in the production of carbon fiber parts, and for vacuum forming and thermoforming applications. Targeted industries include automotive and aerospace.
Suitable for use across a range of industries including automotive and aerospace, the Ares 770 tooling material can be used at temperatures up to +130ºC and boasts a fine surface structure, low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), optimal dimensional stability and an inert surface for wide-ranging compatibility.
According to John Miller, managing director of Base Materials, the launch of Ares 770 represents a substantial investment in, and commitment to, enhancing U.K. customer innovation and support.
Manufactured in-house, Ares 770 is available in a selection of board thicknesses up to 200 mm. Base Materials also produces ancillary products including adhesives, sealers and release agents.
