RobbJack Corp. (Lincoln, CA, US) is highlighting its high-performance tools for machining composite materials, including its line of PCD drills. The company says its PCD drills outperform diamond-coated drills when cutting materials with high plastic content because they can be resharpened and maintain a sharper cutting edge. The company’s featured PCD Tipped W-Point drill is a high-performance tool has a solid polycrystalline diamond tip and a sharp outer edge that is said to cleanly shear the material without delamination, uncut fibers or pullout. The solid-tipped PCD drill is said to provide 25 times longer tool life in CFRP applications compared to a traditional carbide drill.Booth Y39.
