Laser Technology Inc. (Norristown, Pa., U.S.) specializes in shearography nondestructive testing (NDT) of composites, offering instruments and production systems for aerospace, marine, wind power and automotive applications. Shearography is a full-field inspection technique that provides a picture of subsurface flaws, typically covering typically 2 ft2 in one image.

Anomalies may be sized using Laser Technology’s power suite of analysis tools. The LTI-2100 is optimal for detecting disbonds, porosity, delaminations and impact damage in carbon fiber laminates, honeycomb and foam-cored structures. It is being used for the NDT of all composites on the NASA Lunar Gateway Space Station PPE.

Laser Technology’s LTI 5200 portable vacuum stress shearography system was developed for military aircraft but is also well suited for testing foam-cored boat hulls and superstructures for voids and disbonds. This handheld inspection unit can cover up to 150 ft2/hr.

Laser Technology also offers testing services and operator training to ASNT and NAS410 standards.

will be exhibiting new technology at CAMX 2025 in Orlando, FL this September.
