(Waltham, Mass., U.S.) supplies innovative software solutions for composite materials characterization and quality control. Demonstration of the latest version of the company’s analytical Avizo Software will highlight how the system provides optimized workflows addressing the entire research-to-production cycle — from analysis of fibers, pores and matrices in labs to automated quality control of composite parts in production environments — using any type of modality (X-ray computed tomography, synchrotron, electron microscopy) to acquire digital data.
Avizo Software represents 20+ years of collaboration with the scientific community and thousands of researchers. Using powerful segmentation and image processing capabilities and workflows, the system quantifies, processes and analyzes imaging data to better help understand composite materials with complex microstructures.
The company’s software solutions are fully flexible and open to customization. Scripting interface (Python, TCL), bridge with MATLAB and programming API enable users to expand the software and integrate their own intellectual property (IP). Tailored solutions are also made available.
Thanks to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s automation capabilities, and with the addition of its always-expanding online repository of add-ons, repeatable workflows can be easily encapsulated into easy-to-reproduce recipes. The addition of artificial intelligence enables analysis to be performed by non-image processing experts, saving time on complex analysis while ensuring results consistency.
Thermo Fisher Scientific has a dedicated professional support team so its customers have access to top experts to answer any questions. Training, consulting options and an ever-expanding collection of tutorials and how-to’s, reduce the learning curve and help customers focus on getting the answers they’re pursuing.
