Hawkeye Industries Inc. (Bloomington, Calif., U.S.) highlights its latest Duratec in-mold primers and topcoats, designed to give composites manufacturers a faster path to durable, high-gloss parts without excessive finish work. Other coating, compound and polish solutions are also on display.
According to Hawkeye, switching to in-mold coatings cuts finish time by up to 60%, uses up to 50% less material than traditional gelcoats, enhances impact resistance and surface durability, reduces weight and bonds seamlessly with polyester, vinyl ester and most epoxies.
Duratec in particular is known for its air-cure chemistry, consistent performance and versatile use, streamlining surface prep from plug to final part. It has been proven in industries like marine, motorsports and recreational vehicles, where weight, durability and aesthetics matter.
Hawkeye also highlights Duratec coatings — sealers, putty, primers, additives and topcoats — emphasizing the brand’s versatile, adaptable product line. Styrosafe resin and Styroshield primer offer a reliable barrier coat when working with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam, and are ideal for low-cost prototyping and plug, model and architectural applications. Aqua-Buff compounds and polishes provide the final touch to gelcoat surfaces. The water-based, swirl-free finishing compounds bring out the shine in patterns, molds and parts.
The company sets itself apart through its proven chemistry, exacting quality control and responsive customer support.
