Porcher Industries opens manufacturing site in Zhejiang, China
Long term plans for the site include a broader range of innovative technical textiles and thermoplastic solutions for the aerospace and industrial sectors.
Porcher Industries (Eclose-Badinières, France) on Nov. 22 celebrated the grand opening of its new Chinese manufacturing site, Zhejiang Porcher Industries New Material (Zhejiang, China), a 50 million USD cash investment, supported by the regional government and local development zone.
The initial focus of the 24,000 m2 site is the manufacture of 8 million m2 of material intended for airbag production. Looking ahead, the site, equipped with advanced looms and coating machines, automatic control tension systems and weight control coating equipment, plans to offer a broader range of innovative technical textiles and thermoplastic solutions for the aerospace and industrial sectors.
The inauguration was led by André Genton, CEO, Porcher Industries; Peter Bentley, managing director, Per-Astra; and Ian Burgess, managing director, Warwick Capital.
