Natural Gas Vehicles for America (NGVA) announced in October that Matheson Trucking Inc. (Sacramento, Calif., U.S.) has been awarded its 2021 NGV Achievement Award – Natural Gas Fleet program. Nominated by Hexagon Agility, (Costa Mesa, Calif., U.S.), the award recognizes Matheson’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of natural gas as a transportation fuel.
Matheson Trucking is reported to be a leading adopter of natural gas vehicles, with a continued commitment to growing its natural gas fleet and decreasing diesel emissions, as well as pushing forward environmentally friendly innovation. Matheson’s fleet of 95 near-zero emission NGVs that transport mail across the country for the U.S Postal Service is expanding with 40 more natural gas sleeper trucks equipped with Hexagon Agility’s ProCab 175 and dual ProRail 40 composite fuel systems. The combined ProCab and dual ProRail fuel systems enable Matheson to operate more than 1,200 miles before stopping to re-fuel.
“Matheson has long been committed to implementing sustainable fuel sources. We are honored to accept this award from NGV America and would like to thank Hexagon Agility for nominating us,” says Lauren Matheson, manager of promotions and public relations, Matheson.
“We congratulate Matheson Trucking for its outstanding contributions to advance natural gas adoption as a transportation fuel,” adds Eric Bippus, senior vice president of global sales and marketing. “Natural gas heavy-duty trucks are one of the most cost-effective remedies to address greenhouse gas and NOx emissions.”
NGVA is a national organization of roughly 200 companies and organizations dedicated to the development of a growing, profitable and sustainable market for vehicles, ships, and carriers powered by natural gas or biomethane.
