(Portsmouth, U.K.) announces its acquisition of Glasgow- based (Scotland), the sole stockists of glass fiber materials and all related sundry products in Scotland. The Allscot business is said to be one of the U.K.’s oldest distribution businesses and operates from a 15,000-square-foot facility, including offices and a successful trade counter.
This acquisition nearly doubles GRP Solutions’ warehouse capacity and will enable the company to be closer to its customers in Scotland and northern England. With a more local presence, GRP Solutions also looks forward to a more sustainable future with carbon emission reductions in its road freight. Growth can also be found in the product portfolios GRP Solutions and Allscot offer.
“We look forward to strengthening Allscot and investing in the facility and to making Scotland a high growth area for our business,” Brian Harpur, managing director of GRP Solutions, says. “For me, it is a proud occasion as Allscot is located two miles north of where my mother was born, but also for the fact that we continue to strengthen our business by ‘Doing the right thing’: investing in composites, being closer to our customers and offering world-class service. We have also started our support of local communities by making a donation to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice who provide palliative care to people in and around Glasgow.”
