Composite Factory LLC (Mooresville, N.C., U.S.) announced on Sept. 2 that it has received accreditation by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) Registrar for the design and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. The company says it received accreditation for demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications.
“We are very proud of our team for establishing our quality management system [QMS]. We are now positioned to take on new programs for UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles], military equipment, communications and high-performance consumer products,” said Joseph Hofmann, COO.
Founded in 2019 by the owners of Fibreworks Composites, also based on Mooresville, Composites Factory’s expectations are to bring its expertise and capabilities to the aerospace, defense and commercial customers who require ISO9001:2015 AS9100D certification.
According to Hoffman, the company’s design team is also capable of full-scale development from prototype through full production. “Composite Factory offers the fastest turn around in the industry because we do it all internally. We can machine and build tooling in days, instead of weeks. We also specialize in custom complex structures bringing optimized performance and part consolidation to your application.” Some of the company’s capabilities include internal molded features with class A finish; high-temperature cyanates and ceramics; co-molding of elastomer/composite; complex bonded assemblies; and sustainable materials.
“Composite Factory has demonstrated its commitment to world class quality management by implementing and becoming certified to the AS9100 Rev D standard. They have joined an elite number of organizations worldwide who have achieved certification to this globally recognized quality standard,” notes Randy Daugharthy, director of the Registrar Program at the PRI Registrar. “PRI Registrar is proud to partner with Composite Factory in this accomplishment and looks forward to continued support of their objective of quality excellence.”
