Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG, Charlotte, N.C., U.S.) invites attendees to learn more about how the company’s advanced composites support high-performance and sustainable innovations across aerospace, automotive, construction, energy and industrial markets. This year, MCG is presenting a comprehensive materials portfolio designed for scalable manufacturing and sustainable innovation —from PAN precursor to carbon fiber to composite prepregs — backed by MCG’s support from design through simulation and production.
MCG is particularly focused on eco-conscious mobility as part of its long-term strategy to tackle global challenges through advanced materials. In the face of climate change, resource constraints and rapidly evolving mobility demands, the company is committed to delivering high-performance solutions that accelerate the shift toward sustainable transportation. With a network of more than 2,000 R&D experts, MCG delivers tailored technologies supporting design, simulation and scalable production. Its approach combines breakthrough materials, cutting-edge manufacturing and deep collaboration to unlock new possibilities for lightweighting, thermal management and structural performance.
A highlight at MCG’s booth is an electric vehicle (EV) battery case, which demonstrates the company’s end-to-end capabilities in action. The battery case cover is produced with MCG’s GMT/KyronTEX thermoplastic composites, chosen for their lightweight strength, flame resistance and design flexibility. The tray features FMC/prepreg materials that offer optimal moldability, thermal resistance and structural performance. For advanced thermal management, the battery case incorporates a phase change material (PCM) that provides thermal and electrical insulation while enabling heat storage.
In addition, MCG is introducing Therminsynx, its latest innovation engineered to stop thermal runaway in EV cells and elevate battery safety.
