(Düsseldorf, Germany) is revealing latest innovations in its Bond Laminate (Brilon, Germany) thermoplastic composite sheets (sold under the Tepex brand). These developments highlight various application fields with a focus on the megatrends of new mobility and sustainability. Attendees visiting the booth can see solutions for individualized product designs and product properties as well as enhanced safety resource conservation and environment protection.
Applications highlighted at the Envalior booth include:
- The Fisker Ocean wheel cover made of Tepex Flowcore, providing a forged carbon look.
- The Mercedes C-Class load compartment well made of PP-roving glass organosheet. It offers weight savings of ca. 4 kg compared to steel sheet metal.
- Offering lightweight performance, plus rigidity and crash performance, the BMW M sport car seat pan made of a structural Tepex organosheet. A derivate of the seat pan is made as a technical demonstrator of a natural fiber (flax)-based Tepex composite.
- Enabled by inserts like metal threat domes and other functional elements, the Mercedes EQS battery carrier plate with functional integration. Plus, the part is fully recyclable.
- Meeting the challenges of flammability in thermal runaway cases is a material solution for electric vehicle (EV) batteries made of customized Tepex organosheets. For the latest EV battery applications, Tepex sheets open up new ways of preventing fires and enables small wall thickness.
- Highly sustainable with maximum performance for tank systems, a pressure vessel made from UDea EcoPaXX performance unidirectional (UD) tapes and Envalior liners. The company says that its UD tapes enable fully automized winding of tanks, and its performance fibers and specials liner materials reach maximum performance for tank systems.
