Induction tooling technology expert Roctool (Le Bourget du Lac, France) is unveiling the Roctool induction dynamic saver (R-IDS), a heated platen technology that is dedicated to compression molding thermoset and thermoplastic composites. Roctool is demonstrating R-IDS in collaboration with material partners at the “Live Demonstration” zone at Booth T72 in Hall 6.
R-IDS was developed in response to growing demand and an increasingly energy-conscious market. Drawing from an extensive patent portfolio and know-how, Roctool’s R-IDS is said to introduces a dynamic new standard in composites, enabling more opportunity for mass production in composite parts with first-rate performance.
R-IDS has been designed to surpass the limitations of traditional oil heating and electrical cartridges, offering high efficiency and performance. It is also adaptable and versatile, compatible with molds and inserts made from aluminum, steel, nickel-based alloys, etc. R-IDS can achieve rapid, uniform heating with induction technology (400°C+), optimizing cycle times and reduced energy consumption. Moreover, its “effortless” heating and cooling of molds streamlines thermal analysis.
The importance behind R-IDS is its accessibility, reduction of time to market and its ability to provide a sustainable, long-term investment that integrates smoothly into existing workflows, Roctool says. R-IDS adapts to small parts as well as large, multi-meter parts, offering the ability to reach high temperatures while reducing development costs, without compromising on reliability or safety.
R-IDS comes as a full package, offering the heated platen, the heating elements and the generators to the cooling units.
