Tighitco produces composite aerostructure system for Black Hawk helicopters
Tighitco’s track record of delivering composite and metallic solutions in aerospace and defense will support the performance and safety of all of Sikorsky’s Black Hawk platforms.

, with locations in Charleston, South Carolina and Berlin, Connecticut, has been selected by (Stratford, Conn., U.S.) for the production phase of an aerostructure system designed to enhance the Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter platform. This manufacturing support for advanced systems on all Black Hawk platforms represents a minimum 5-year program valued at $134 million, with deliveries to start in Q4 2024.
The new system, which has been in collaborative development for nearly a decade, will be used on Sikorsky’s Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter platform, serving as a critical component for the aircraft’s performance and safety. Tighitco reports that its Complex Composites Division has a proven track record of delivering high-quality and innovative solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, with expertise in advanced composite materials and manufacturing processes well-suited for this project.
