Kineco Kaman completes delivery of first CFRP OMA assembly for Gaganyaan mission
Backed by previous composites-related projects, Kineco continues to contribute its expertise to future space exploration in India.

(Goa, India) has completed its first commercial delivery of the orbital module adaptor assembly (OMA) to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), a critical component for the ’s (ISRO, Bengaluru) human spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan.
Kineco Kaman was selected as a partner of choice for this project by the VSSC in June 2022 to supply three OMA assemblies to ISRO/VSSC on the back of its track record and consistent performance on space programs like the dual helix antennas for the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite program (IRNSS) and the EBS assemblies for the LVM3-M2/OneWeb India and Chandrayaan-3 missions.
OMA is a 4-meter-diameter conical carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sandwich structure which is integrated with machined metallic rings to tight tolerances. It is a critical assembly of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk-III, acting as an adaptor assembled between Crew Escape module and Equipment Bay shroud.
