Five French companies specializing in thermoplastic composites (TPC) have joined forces to create the Composites TP Team. This alliance includes Coriolis Composites (Queven), Pinette PEI (Chalon-sur-Saône), (Paris), (Bouguenais) and Cetim (Senlis Cedex).

Together, partners offer to manufacturers from all sectors a comprehensive range of services covering all stages of the TPC value chain, from development to industrialization of high value-added applications. This initiative addresses the growing global demand for integrated and flexible TPC solutions, aiming to provide more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective industrial applications while supporting industry decarbonization.

Estimated at 4.7 million tons in 2024, the global TPC market is expected to reach 6 million tons by 2029, with an annual growth rate of 5%. This growth spans industrial sectors, including aerospace, automotive and renewable energies, where performance and decarbonization are critical.

With an increasing focus on TPC, the need for industrial support is growing. The Composites TP Team offers its services to industrial players — whether novice or experienced — wishing to acquire or enhance their skills and resources to develop and industrialize TPC parts. Services include:

  • Technical and economic feasibility studies
  • Pre-design and detailed design (design and material selection)
  • Tooling design and manufacturing
  • Process development and fine-tuning (industrial resources and tooling)
  • Prototyping, assembly and testing
  • Nondestructive testing (NDT)
  • Part assembly and validation testing
  • Skills transfer and training.

Leveraging the recognition of high value-added projects already jointly conducted, the relevance of the Composites TP Team is based on the complementary skills and cutting-edge expertise of its members:

  • Coriolis Composites is a manufacturer and developer of automated fiber placement robots and integrated software into design tools.
  • Pinette PEI manufactures and develops composites processing machines.
  • The Institut de Soudure developments and supplies TPC assembly solutions, with expertise in NDT.
  • Loiretech designs and manufactures all tooling required for the production, assembly and inspection of composite parts.
  • Cetim is the French technical center for mechanical industries, with R&D capability and expertise in composites engineering and multi-material assembly.
