Forvia divests Faurecia Lightweight Solutions business to ASC
French automotive supplier Faurecia Automotive Composites becomes Compositec, intending a complete focus on composite-based solutions for its customers.

Faurecia Automotive Composites (Saint-Malo, France), part of ’s (Nanterres, France) Lightweight Solutions Division, was acquired by (Munich, Germany) in late February 2025. The transaction includes production locations in Saint-Meloir-des-Ondes and Theillay, as well as a high-tech R&D center in Saint-Malo.
The investment firm will continue to operate Faurecia’s sites, and now supplies existing and new customers under the name . Compositec will continue to serve the sports and luxury car, e-mobility, automotive and trucks, and off-road vehicle industry with composite solutions out of its facilities in France.
ASC currently operates a portfolio of companies headquartered in Europe, with activities that span around the globe, and encompass a multitude of sectors and industries, such as general industrials, automotive, automation, building materials, lighting solutions, business process outsourcing and the chemicals.
Forvia took the decision to divest its Lightweight Solutions Division as it no longer aligns with the company’s core business strategy. After a thorough selection process, ASC was selected as the best new home of the business, among other reasons, due to its strong and reliable track record in managing complex carve-outs and sustainably improving and growing companies.

With a history of more than 50 years, Compositec has a strong heritage in composites manufacturing, mastering various thermoset and thermoplastic production processes.
