Exact Metrology introduces new 3D laser scanner
Artec Ray scanner provides fast and accurate data for applications such as reverse engineering, inspection, construction, product design, forensics and heritage presentation.
Exact Metrology (Cincinnati, OH, US) announced on April 4 the availability of a new Artec Ray laser scanner (images courtesy of ). The scanner reportedly offers ultra-high precision and speed for scanning large objects like wind turbines, ship propellers, airplanes, and buildings. Exact Metrology says the Artec Ray can scan up to 110 meters away and offers submillimeter distance accuracy, best-in-class angular accuracy, clean data capture other 3D scanners of this type, and mimimal noise levels in order to reduce post-processing time.
The scanner is equipped with software solutions, has an internal battery life of 4 hours and can be paired with Eva or Spider handheld Artec scanners to scan hard-to-reach areas such as the interiors of cars or add intricate detail to a large-scale 3D model.
