Scott Bader (Northamptonshire, U.K.) is exhibiting its adhesive, resin, gelcoat and tooling ranges. In particular, the company is featuring Crestafire, its composite FST system for the rail, marine, and building and construction markets. Crestafire products offer high fire, smoke and toxic fume performance and meet stringent European and Global FST standards. Visitors to the stand can see an internal passenger train door manufactured with a new EN45545-certified Crestafire system: Crestapol 1211 urethane acrylate resin and Fireguard gelcoat 78PPA.

Scott Bader’s adhesive ranges include Crestabond, and Crestomer structural adhesives, along with Crestafix bonding pastes. The company is launching its latest primer-less MMA structural adhesive, Crestabond M7-04, at JEC. ​​​​​​Crestabond M7-04 will bond with a wide range of substrates including galvanized metals, and offers a short working time of 3-5 minutes as well as a fast fixture time of 12 minutes. This adhesive is said to demonstrate high impact, peel, shear, compressive strength and fatigue resistance properties across all bonded parts. Furthermore, it requires minimal surface preparation, helping to reduce overall production costs and increase productivity. An automotive spoiler for the BYD Tang II manufactured in China with ABS-PC bonding and using Scott Bader’s Crestabond M1-04 adhesive is on display.

Other key products include Crystic Ecogel ultra low styrene spray gelcoats, including the ‘zero’ styrene Ecogel S0 PA grade; Crestapol resins for tough lightweight carbon fiber components and Crestamould matched tooling systems.

Scott Bader is also displaying a hologram unit showcasing the carbon fiber curved pultruded bumper beam used in the new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which is manufactured using Crestapol urethane acrylate resins.
