Editor’s note: ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ received several new product and technology announcements ahead of JEC World 2020, which had been scheduled for March 3-5. Although that exhibition was postponed to May, CW is now publishing the announcements we received. This is one of them.
(Pontypool, U.K.) is introducing a range of new rugged carbon splicers said to reduce costs through saved time and waste elimination.
The yarn splicers, which include a five-year guarantee in normal usage, are designed to produce a smooth joint between threads, reducing costs in textile processes. This is to solve the difficulty in making spliced joints in relatively brittle, heavy materials such as carbon and glass fibers.
The process of splicing is complex and involves moving air at high speed, to tangle fibers without breaking them. Airbond says its products enable operation of splicing chambers at lower pressures, to successfully splice fragile and large yarns.
Airbond will be at JEC World 2020 at stand S52, hall 6.
