(Munich), a German technology and engineering company specializing in continuous fiber solutions, has unveiled a compact fiber-forming station designed for testing, development and small-scale production. It is versatile tool suited for universities, research institutes and companies working with glass and basalt fibers.
The fiber-forming station incorporates several features that make it ideal for R&D. At a height of just 2.2 m, the station is compact enough to fit into standard laboratory spaces. Its portability enables easy transport and setup in different locations, ensuring flexibility for testing and development purposes. The station also serves as an easy replacement for fixed fiber-forming setups, eliminating the need for permanent installations and allowing it to be relocated within the same facility or to different locations.
The fiber-forming station features a user-friendly design so that the entire process can be managed by a single technician, streamlining operations and reducing labor requirements. It can be equipped with various sizing applicators, achieving a platform for testing glass or basalt fiber combinations with different types of sizing, including recyclable options, and for small-scall fiber production for downstream testing.
A range of modular extensions are available for tailoring the system to specific requirements. Addition of an automatic filling system makes it compatible with marbles or pellets, enhancing material handling efficiency. A variety of sizing applications support experimentation with multiple sizing types, and various winding systems can accommodate different production needs. Option for a self-sufficient cooling water system ensures smooth operation without dependency on external cooling infrastructure. And a glass level measuring system provides precise monitoring of material levels during operation.
WH Lipex’s system has a flexible output ranging from a few grams to 3 kg/h, suitable for both experimental and small-scale production applications. Its bushing range is from one tip upward, enabling a wide variety of configurations.
