(VSG, Singapore), a developer of advanced thermal insulation materials, presents its latest innovations in alumina fiber. With vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities and a strong focus on material science and research, VSG is capable of mass-producing both continuous and short alumina fibers for various industries including automotive, ceramics, energy, ferrous metallurgy, petrochemical and aerospace.
VSG’s flagship product line features alumina continuous fibers with varying amounts of alumina content from 70-99%. Engineered via its proprietary sol-gel technology and processes, these high-performance fibers exhibit high thermal stability (up to 1400°C/2552°F), low thermal conductivity and optimal resistance to chemical corrosion. These properties make VSG’s alumina fibers suitable as materials for ceramic, polymer and metal matrix composites (CMC, PMC and MMC) and high temperature-resistance textile products.
VSG’s continuous fiber products come in various forms including a spool of fiber, chopped fibers, woven fabric, woven tape, braided sleeves, ropes and sewing thread. Common applications of VSG’s continuous fibers include heat shield insulation, furnace linings, high-temperature seals, gaskets, roller insulation in glass manufacturing, thermal protection of batteries, heat protection for wires and more.
VSG also showcases its discontinuous alumina fiber-based insulation solutions, including needled blankets and bulk fibers. These products offer dimensional stability and durability in harsh environments. The light weight of VSG’s discontinuous alumina fiber products makes them a cost-effective solution for applications that require high-temperature and corrosion resistance. Common applications of VSG’s discontinuous alumina fiber products include furnace linings modules, reheat furnace roof, gaskets and fire barriers. Produced with tight control over fiber diameter and purity, VSG’s short fiber products deliver consistent and repeatable performance for OEM and MRO applications.
Through advanced materials research and engineering, VSG aims to help drive global progress by enhancing the accessibility and affordability of advanced materials for sustainable growth.
