Future Materials Group report addresses advanced materials and climate change
Report analyzes sustainability strategy development, the role of carbon fiber in the global energy transition, and profitability challenges faced by wind OEMs.
Advanced materials M&A specialist Future Materials Group (FMG, Cambridge, U.K.) has released the Spring 2023 issue of its “,” a half-year review with a focus on how advanced materials companies are addressing climate change.
Following FMG’s definition of the advanced materials sector, the report is divided into two sections. In the first section, Financial Review, FMG analyzes post-pandemic revenue growth, EBIT margins, rising inventory levels, market valuations of advanced materials companies, and M&A activity for the second half of 2022, .
The second section, Market Commentary, looks more closely at strategy development for sustainable products. This includes exploration of sustainability pressures of end markets and how those can and should affect sustainability strategies along the supply chain. The report then reviews barriers to entry for the adoption of sustainable materials and how these might be addressed. Finally, the report discusses the importance of aligning a sustainability strategy with the pressures.
The final two sections of the report summarize the importance of carbon fiber as an enabler of the global energy transition, as well as how and why western wind energy OEMs are struggling to be profitable.
