9T Labs recognized as finalist for Swiss startup award

The Swiss carbon fiber composite 3D-printing startup is one of five finalists for the Prix Strategis 2020 competition.

The  is an annual award recognizing innovation quality, growth potential and operations management of Swiss startup companies. On April 24, the Prix Strategis jury announced this year’s finalists, including 3D-printed carbon fiber composite specialist 9T Labs (Zurich, Switzerland). The award includes 50kCHF ( ) as well as recognition and exposure to experts and entrepreneurs.

The five finalists include:

  • 9T Labs,
  • PXLVision, specializing in identity verification,
  • SUN Bioscience, which specializes in cell cultures,
  • Microcaps, which offers precise distribution of pharmaceutical molecules, and
  • Pristem, which specializes in medical equipment for disadvantaged environments.

The awards ceremony, originally scheduled for this month, has been postponed. The final date will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.

9T Labs announced in January of this year that it had secured $4.3 million in new funding to finish the development of its industrial 3D printing solution and to scale-up the first mass manufacturing industrial use cases. The company also recently announced a partnership with high-performance polymer supplier Arkema to enable cost-competitive series production of structural composite parts with complex internal fiber orientation.
