For more than 50 years, Thermal Equipment Corp. (TEC, Rancho Dominguez, Calif., U.S.) has specialized in the design and manufacture of production-quality autoclaves. Said to have pioneered the modern custom aerospace autoclave system, TEC strives to propel the autoclave industry forward by engineering more advanced pressure vessels, creating new processes and refining its methods. TEC says that many of its managers, engineers and technicians have been with the company 20+ years, and is continuing this legacy with new interns in every department.
TEC autoclave systems are known for their robustness, quality and reliability, performing well in heavy production environments over long periods of time, according to the company. High performance is the result of experience and overengineering key components such as the closure design, hinge design, door bolt, encapsulated fan motors, heating and cooling coils, TEC’s internal sheet metal installation methods and more.
TEC offers a range of services ranging from custom autoclave systems, Off-The-Shelf (OTS) Autoclaves, pressure vessel repairs, door maintenance, door alignment and system calibration. Its newest product, the OTS Autoclave is said to be a competitively priced and quick-delivery autoclave system that is ready for installation. It can be delivered in as little as three weeks, uses a skid-mounted system and does not require a pit. TEC says the autoclaves use a standard 165 PSI design with 150 psi of operating pressure and operate at a standard 450 degrees. OTS autoclaves come in three sizes: OTS 3' x 5', OTS 4' x 8' and OTS 6' x 12' and come with one full-year warranty.
