Startup company  (Milan, Italy) announces that an R&D project with partner  (Tortoreto, Italy) funded by the European Union will drive the development of its solar panels innovation, which uses carbon fiber and bioresins.

Both companies have expertise in carbon fiber composites. Its integration achieves ultra-lightweight, thin, glass-free panels with high durability and Class A surface quality (learn more). Currently in the R&D phase, these integrated panels are engineered to become a structural, aesthetic and fully integrated part of the final product, surpassing traditional photovoltaic manufacturing limits and redefining solar applications across industries.

The solar panels’ combination of features also enable them to serve not just as solar solutions but also as load-bearing and design-enhancing elements in products like automotive roofs, bonnets and body parts.

Levante is an Italian startup specializing in the design and engineering of carbon fiber solar panels and custom solar solutions. ACS develops state-of-the-art components for clients in the automotive, aerospace and yachting industries. Collaborators involved in the project include the University of Catania (DICAR – Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Architettura).

This project has been funded as part of the PNRR initiative under Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.5. It is further supported through the “Bando a Cascata a favore delle imprese del Mezzogiorno” — SPOKE 1 — “Materials for Sustainability and Ecological Transition” within the ECOSISTER (Ecosystem for Sustainable Transition in Emilia-Romagna) project.
