Conbility GmbH (Aachen, Germany) has successfully delivered and commissioned a machine system for laser-safe winding and placement of thermoplastic tapes at the (TITK) in Rudolstadt, Germany. This machine system will support TITK’s ongoing R&D in the field of laser-assisted thermoplastic tape winding (LATW) and tape placement with in situ consolidation for high-performance fiber-reinforced thermoplastic materials.
“With this new winding and placement system we are significantly expanding our capabilities to develop and test cutting-edge composite manufacturing technologies,” says Dr. Reußmann, chief engineer at TITK. “The system enables us to conduct advanced R&D projects in the field of thermoplastic composites, with a strong focus on aerospace and other high-performance applications. Conbility’s technology gives us the flexibility we need to adapt and optimize our processes for a variety of material systems and component designs.”
Conbility GmbH is known as a comprehensive technology partner in the field of composites manufacturing, capable of producing preforms and parts from towpregs, thermoset prepregs, dry fiber and thermoplastic tapes. In addition to delivering customized machine systems, the company offers support in composite part design and development, as well as prototype and small-series production at its in-house technology center in Herzogenrath.
As part of its commitment to driving innovation in composite manufacturing, Conbility is exhibiting at JEC World 2025 (Booth R119, Hall 5). Attendees are invited to explore the company’s comprehensive machine and service portfolio and discuss potential collaborations in fields such as hydrogen pressure vessels, structural components or e-motor rotor sleeves.
