Reed Exhibitions announced on May 4 that it is changing the name of the Composites Europe trade show to Composites for Europe in an effort to promote new opportunities for its business summit for composite materials, which is planned for Nov. 10, 2020, in Stuttgart, Germany. Composites for Europe will focus especially on small and medium-sized companies, innovative start-ups and on the strong composites market in the D-A-CH region (Germany-Austria-Switzerland). 

“The market is changing. With Composites for Europe we are opening up a new chapter and actively co-shaping current developments in the industry,” says Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, event director at organizer Reed Exhibitions, which owns and operates Composites for Europe. The event will focus on automation and digitalization in German-speaking markets.

“We deliberately center on the D-A-CH region as the core market and one of the most innovative technology locations and strongest markets for the composites sector in Europe,” explains Jungmichel. This market, he says, is characterized by small and medium-sized firms that generate important ideas and for the whole composites sector in Europe.

The new exhibition concept of Composites for Europe, which will initially center on one exhibition hall in Stuttgart in 2020, features themed worlds. In central locations selected lighthouse projects (High Lights) from the Mobility/Transport, Construction/Infrastructure, Circular Economy and Sports/Leisure markets will be showcased. Exhibitors’ stands will be grouped around these exhibits. Also featured will be lectures and keynote speeches delivered at two Impulse Forums. In addition, the Start-up Area will feature representatives from new companies, presenting their innovative solutions and novel products.

The long-established special areas, called Process Live, will return and feature exhibitors demonstrating their machinery. “With Process Live, we have created a unique format that allows the composites industry to illustrate the advances made in digitalization and the connection of machines in the process chain and additionally point out to visitors how manufacturing processes can be automated,” says Jungmichel.

Composites for Europe will again be co-located with Foam Expo Europe, the trade fair for the technical foam supply chain held in parallel at the exhibition center in Stuttgart.
