Vacuum pumps, cyclone separators support dust extraction from work environment
CAMX 2024: Eurovac’s upgraded central high-vacuum dust extraction systems remove virtually all sanding/grinding dust at the source for cleaner, safer manufacturing.

A Eurovac (North York, Ontario, Canada) central high-vacuum dust extraction system, used with appropriate vacuum-assist tools, removes virtually all sanding or cutting dust and fumes right at the source, eliminating them before they get into the air for a cleaner, healthier work environment.
The central vacuum systems, now capable of maintaining airflow at approximately 4,500 ft3/min, are designed for use with vacuum drops (or workstations) and can be placed where needed to increase a manufacturers’ productivity. They are ideal for source capture when used with vacuum-assist hand tools, such as sanders, grinders, saws and routers. With hand tools, a high-vacuum system (10-100″ water column) is necessary to offset friction losses with small-diameter hoses (1-2″ vacuum hoses). A 10- to 75-hp centrifugal multistage pump can be set at various vacuum levels from 5″ HG (68″ water column) for short pipe runs to 10″ HG (135″ water column) to offset friction losses on long pipe runs.
In addition to reducing health risks from harmful airborne dust and fumes, as well as the expense of cleanup, Eurovac reports that the CCST- and OSHA-compliant dust extraction systems extend the life of paper and increase savings by 30-50%. The systems are ideal for production shops with 10-40+ users sanding at the same time.
Notably, large aluminum impellers and fabricated housings result in a vacuum pump that is more efficient than competitive products, which typically have smaller steel impellers and sections held together with tie-rods. The systems come equipped with cartridge filters, automatic compressed air pulse jet cleaning and primary cyclonic separation. Eurovac’s industrial-grade induction motors have a 20,000 hour rating.
